Tooele County High School is a year-round school providing educational classes required for a high school diploma and the General Education Development (GED) test.   

Classes are open to all residents 18 years of age or older whose high school class has graduated, whether they are working toward a high school diploma, wanting to earn a GED, needing English as a Second language instruction, requiring basic skills in reading, writing, or math, or interested in taking courses for personal enrichment or career development.  The fee is $25 per semester (six months).

Tooele County High School provides:


•Flexible Hours
The centers are open days and evenings so students can attend at hours convenient to their schedule.  Students may study texts and supplemental materials in class and at home and pass corresponding tests to demonstrate competency.

•Education Lab/Internet
Students may use supplemental software, such as PLATO, HEC, MAVIS BEACON, ENTREPRENEURSHIP, etc. to aid in their studies as they strive to obtain a high school diploma.


Students entering Tooele County High School receive an individual SEOP placement session.  The SEOP assists adults in making educational/vocational decisions based upon a required assessment of academic skills, vocational interests, work values, vocational aptitude, occupational and labor market information and vocational counseling.  This service provides students with valuable information needed to make the best possible career and educational decisions.


•Educational Assessment
Tooele County High School offers comprehensive educational evaluation services.  The evaluation process provides students with the awareness of their current ability levels in reading, math, and grammar and assesses areas for improvement.
GED testing is available six times a year


•English as a Second Language
Classes are offered at beginning, intermediate and advance levels.  Students may learn speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills, as well as life skills and civic education.  Monday and Thursday evening classes are offered with an ESL instructor.  Computer and video-assisted programs are available to ESL students during daytime school hours.


•Adult Vocational Programs
Classes are offered in Entrepreneurship, Obtaining a Job, Retaining a Job, Family Money Management, Driver’s Education, computers and Career Exploration in clothing design, fundamentals of electricity, automotive excellence, carpentry and technology.
